The Founders of Hogwarts is a historical period film based upon the creation of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the medieval era. It explores the origins of the school not only as an academic institution but as one of the earliest developments of magical society.

Established approximately around the ninth or tenth century, Hogwarts was founded by two wizards and two witches known to be the finest in both the historical and modern era. Each represented an aspect of personality that would become the principles in which they desired to nurture the skill and growth of their pupils. Today, the school is regarded as the greatest centre for magical learning in the United Kingdom.
